Master Cleanser – How To Avoid Failing To Complete It
Who wants to carry around 20 pounds of waste in their intestines? Anyone? No one? According to Stanley Burroughs, you can shed up to 20 pounds of rotting fecal matter, chemical toxins, mucus and sticky fat on the 10 day lemonade detox diet, also known as “The Master Cleanse” or the maple syrup diet. While 10 days may not seem long in the beginning, it can quickly become overwhelming. To combat the urge to quit, here are a few tips that will motivate you to the end.
Look how far you’ve come. Seeing results can be very inspiring and boost your drive to continue with the lemonade detox diet. However, this tactic should be used sparingly, as it can become a habit all too easily. Try to limit this step to once every couple of days to keep your confidence up.
Practice finishing the diet in your mind. While this may sound silly, it is a powerful tool for success. Each time you see yourself finishing and feeling good about it, you will convince your brain that it is going to happen.
Choose your buddy. In school when you were told to choose a buddy to look out for you, it gave a sense of comfort and safety knowing that you had a partner. The buddy system works just as well when undergoing the lemonade detox diet. Knowing that someone is there understanding and supporting will help you through the really rough days.
Let it out. Writing a diary can be a great release when you need to express both negative and positive feelings about your diet. With the rise of the internet came the wonderful world of blogging. Creating a simple blog is free and can be a great way to really get the word out on what you are doing and how it is progressing. And who knows? Maybe you will be the friend someone else needs to hear from.
Reward yourself. Make a deal with yourself that each day you follow the diet, you will reward yourself with 1 item at a store, will rent a movie, or will do something else that is enjoyable. Doesn’t hurt to get your mind off the diet either!
