postheadericon Treating Acne May Determine Washing Your Face Less

There’s no getting around it – if you want skin that’s healthy, you have to clean your face regularly. That can and often does lead to over-washing, which can therefore have a negative effect in your quest of curing acne. The answer may be simply to balance your washing cycle, don’t over do it.

Countless studies have shown that when you apply too much of anything: creams, lotions, moisturizers, meds, this will hurt you. When you wash your face five to six times a day, followed by all manner of creams and treatments day and night, you will worsen your acne and perhaps dry out or create oily skin.

The desire to clean your face is a good one. After all, nobody actually wants to have acne troubles, right? Still, you don’t need to throw your money away on countless chemical and other products just to keep your skin clean. Rather, less is more: use mild soap and some clean and warm water.

You may be thinking that using only soap and water won’t do it. If that’s true for your skin type, then you want to be careful in whatever option you do go with. Some topical agents out there may be harmful to your skin, or just not the best fit for you. With so many treatments out there, you’ll want to ask your doctor for a recommendation.

That being said, keeping it simple is honestly the best approach to curing acne. You should wash your face once at least with a little soap and warm water, and just pat dry with a soft, clean towel. If your doctor prescribes some medication that you need to take for your case, then limit your facial washing to one time a day.

Even if you limit your facial washing to soap and water, you may find that this regimen causes your skin trouble. When your skin is that sensitive to the constant rubbing and washing, you may actually rupture some lesions caused by your acne. This causes only more infections and a worse problem.

Many find that doctors will give them topical, even prescription-strength agents or even pills that lead to a cure. The reason these may be effective is that the approach is simple – one cream or product and very little skin-irritating washes and scrubs. The key to curing acne may be summed up as – be sure that you keep it simple.
